American & Canadian Pancakes (aka Hotcakes, Griddlecakes or Flapjacks) are usually served at Breakfast, in stacks of two three (or even ten) and topped with Maple Syrup & Butter. Archaeological evidence suggests that pancakes were probably the earliest and most widely distributed cereal-based food scoffed in prehistoric societies. (And you can have them delivered through one of the newest forms of technology – the Just Eat app.) Pancakes may be served at any time of the day (although in the US & Canada, they’re typically scoffed at breakfast) with a variety of toppings or fillings including Jam, Fruit, Syrup, Chocolate Sprinkles, or even meat like Bacon or Ham.
