There are already many Korean eateries over here, with more opening all the time. No wonder, Korean cuisine offers lots of light, healthy, vegetable-filled dishes served with mouthwatering meats and seafood.
The fave dishes are pretty special. Like Bibimbap, a big bowl of rice, sautéed veg, mushrooms, beef, soy sauce, chilli pepper paste with a fried egg on top. Or Bulogi, a juicy, savoury dish of grilled marinated beef which is usually wrapped in lettuce with garlic and onions and a spicy red paste. And no Korean meal is complete unless your rice comes with Kimchi, a spicy, crunchy, cabbage-based fermented vegetable mixture that’s a little like sauerkraut, but more full-on. Bulgogi
Bulgogi (aka Korean BBQ Beef, aka ‘Fire Meat’) is a spicy, savoury Korean Cuisine made from thin, marinated slices of succulent grilled Beef. Think Sirloin, Rib-Eye, Brisket or even Pork. (But for home delivery, think Just Eat App.) And once it rolls up, roll the meat in Lettuce with Rice and Gochujang (spicy red chilli paste) – you’ll go gaga for Bulgogi. Another Korean Classic is Kimchi (aka Kimchee) which is made by fermenting Napa Cabbage, Korean Radish and Carrots in a tangy-spicy-garlicky-gingery-oniony-and-chilli-peppery sauce. It’s a side dish that wants to take centre stage because it’s loaded with Vitamins A, B, & C and crammed with ‘Healthy Bacteria’ called Lactobacilli – you know, the sort you find in fermented foods and friendly yogurts.
Bibimbap
Another Korean classic is Bibimbap – sometimes written as Bi Bim Bap and sometimes as Bi Bim Bop. Bap? Bop? Either way it’s is a hip-hop Korean White Rice Bowl packed with de-lish ingredients like sliced beefsteak, sautéed spinach and carrots, plus toasted sesame seeds, Soy Sauce, Doenjang (fermented bean paste) and Gochujang (spicy red chilli paste). Finally, a fried (or raw) egg sits on top of this hot dish, before it’s all stirred together thoroughly.
