French Pain Au Chocolat
The Continentals do Café Culture with a certain ‘je ne sais Croissant’ (and Just Eat know just how to deliver it). As well as the French Pain au Chocolat, there’s the sublime Croque-Monsieur (aka a posh Ham & Cheese Toastie). Known as Tost in Italy and Tosti in Holland it oozes cheesiness (and hamminess) for a nice, light bite. On that subject,‘Croque’ means bite – and a Croque-Madame is the same toastie but with a poached or fried egg on top. (Oeuf!) Spanish Churros are like long, deep-fried doughnuts and are eminently dippable into a cup of Thick Hot Chocolate (you’ll be buzzing more than your alarm call). Danish Pastries are an iconic and popular café treat, and Belgian Waffles (made with yeast, in deeper waffle irons, to be lighter and crisper) are a breakfast, dessert or fun weekend snack. Toppings are as limitless as the imagination: melted butter, syrup, Nutella, strawberries, caramalised bananas, whipped cream…(sorry, we’re waffling…)

The Sandwich has become a versatile part of Café Culture in its many and varied forms to tantalise your palate. (And Just Eat deliver them by the pallet-load.)
